Judging criteria
All solutions are going to be judged on the following five criteria by the jury, they are all equally important.
1. Comprehensibility
2.Realisability
3. Innovativeness
4. Scalability
5. Benefit for society
1. Comprehensibility
- Is it easy to understand the solution?
- Is it clear how the solution helps the inhabitants of Utrecht?
- How detailed is the solution?
- How well was it presented?
2.Realisability
- Is this a smart solution that we can use?
- Do we have all the data that’s needed for the solution to function?
- What are the risks?
- How soon could the solution possibly get to the intended users?
- How much effort is required to make it happen?
- How far is the solution developed?
- Is the concept detailed enough to implement? Is there a need for further development before one gets started?
3. Innovativeness
- Are there existing or similar solutions?
- How does this solution differ from similar ones?
- Why has it not been done before?
4. Scalability
- How many people are experiencing the problem and pain?
- What is the expected demand?
- How many people could benefit from this solution?
- How many are willing to pay for it or use it?
- Could this solution be scaled if our cities grow even further?
5. Benefit for society
- How many in the problem context would experience an improvement and how extensive would that improvement be?
